Thank you so kindly for asking us back! We have a program we hope will strike you as at the core of what it means to be of the GREATEST GENERATION, and we call it "GERSHWIN TODAY!" George Gershwin lived to be only thirty-eight years of age. This Jewish boy from New York wrote some one-thousand songs, an opera, a concerto, and some of the most enduring music ever written by any American composer of any age. His Rhapsody in Blue is known world wide and you will be hearing it along with many of his most popular tunes. They will be brought to you by singers Jennifer Naylon and Al Miller, and Rising Stars, Eric Shechter and Chris Steiner at the piano. This program is proudly put together by pianist, Michael Preddy whose former employers, “The Smothers Brothers,” taught him a valuable lesson: look around and you’ll find big talent everywhere just waiting to be presented! You will see and hear some of that talent as we happily present “GERSHWIN TODAY!"
